What is this website, and who is Gabriel?
Decoding UK Law is a a space created by me for making UK law clearer, more accessible, and intellectually honest.
I am Gabriel, law student with an early and long-standing passion for law. This project reflects a journey that began in São Paulo, Brazil, where I first studied law, and continues in Scotland, where I now live and study. With a particular interest in UK law — especially immigration and human rights — the site documents my ongoing learning process while sharing my own explanations of legal concepts, cases, and methods.
I think that Law is often presented in ways that obscure understanding rather than encourage it. Here, I focus on clarity, context, and careful reasoning. I use real examples to make legal ideas more intelligible and approachable.
At its core, this website reflects a belief that has shaped my approach to law: law and justice are not the same. Making this distinction visible matters if we are to understand how the law operates in practice.
What continues to fascinate me about law is how much turns on reasoning. The same set of facts can lead to different outcomes depending on how an argument is framed — and how well it is justified. See you soon!
